Introduction of SEA Technology
SEA is a isothermal nucleic acid detection technologies mediated by enaturation bubble, which utilizes natural strand "breathing" to open up dsDNA. Similar to PCR, the SEA technology can trigger exponential amplification of target nucleic acid regions by designing only two upstream and downstream primers. The reaction principle of SEA is different from the PCR. PCR reaction opens the double strands of DNA through high temperature, triggers primers combination with formed single strands, and then performs extension and amplification. The primers of the SEA reaction invades denaturation bubble structure, triggers the exponential amplification by extending and replacing the original chain under the activity of polymerase. It is characterized by a short range of selected targets and can be used to detect highly mutated pathogens and pathogenic microorganisms. The reaction is isothermal, complex instruments-independent, simple primer design and low in technical requirements for the operator.
The target of SEA includes not only DNA, but also RNA with one-step amplification.
